Lauren swore she would never own a business. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, she lived the highs and lows of business ownership, and at the ripe old age of thirteen, determined it wasn’t for her.
But as they say, if you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans, and at age 29, Lauren found herself as an accidental entrepreneur as she opened REED, a full-service PR and marketing agency, from her dining room table. Today, she has grown that agency to a multi-million-dollar business, leading strategy and execution for global brands such as Ford, McDonald’s and Bank of America.
Ten years later, she has finally admitted that entrepreneurship is in her blood, and it seems to agree with her. Lauren has been named to the Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and its list of Most Admired CEOs in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She also received a Nashville Emerging Leader Award from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and was a recipient of the Enterprising Woman of the Year Awards in 2020.
Most recently, Lauren was named to the Nashville Post’s InCharge list and has been featured in publications such as StyleBlueprint, Bizwomen and The New York Times.
A communicator at heart, Lauren earned her Accreditation in Public Relations designation in 2010 and has been a long-standing member of the Public Relations Society of America, serving as past president of the Nashville chapter.
Lauren is the author of The Millennials’ Guide to Marketing (launching in 2023) and co-author of Lead Like a Women (available April 2022). When not working or spending time with her four kids, you can find Lauren running trails or on the ski slopes.
